Master Teacher at work! 💪⭐️

History came to life in Ms. Michelle Rodriguez’s 8th-grade Social Studies classroom at Veterans Middle School! While learning about the New England Colonies, Ms. Rodriguez brought realia into the classroom to activate visuals and give students a tangible connection to the content. These purposeful visuals helped energize the lesson, spark curiosity, and make history more meaningful for students. Strong pacing kept the lesson moving and students engaged as they explored life in colonial New England. By combining effective instructional strategies with meaningful content, Ms. Rodriguez made sure her students stayed in the game and connected to the learning. That’s Legacy in Action! She is bringing the playbook to life with strategies that make learning stick! 🎯

At the meeting, families will learn about the exciting places students will visit and experience, along with information about financial assistance, affordable payment plans, and fundraising opportunities.

🌟 Critical Thinkers in Action! 🌟

This week, our campus had the opportunity to recognize outstanding students from all grade levels who demonstrated exceptional critical-thinking skills!

These students showed creativity, problem-solving, perseverance, and the ability to think beyond the obvious. We are incredibly proud of the way our VMS students continue to challenge themselves, ask questions, and find solutions.

Ms. Sanchez is truly a special teacher. ❤️⭐️

Shout out to Ms. Nina Sanchez, with support from Mr. Gonzalez, at Veterans Middle School for a championship-level Goal 1 lesson in 6th grade RLA! As students explored how setting affects plot, Ms. Sanchez Activated Visuals and incorporated Active Practice through collaborative partner work before using Randomize & Rotate to select students to share their thinking. Mr. Gonzalez Broke the Plane by circulating throughout the classroom, providing support and keeping students engaged from start to finish.
