Family is where life begins and love never ends. Sisters Mrs. Singleterry and Mrs. Ortiz completed the Father’s Day 5K in honor of their late father. We are grateful to him for raising such talented, compassionate, and hard-working women, who we are proud to call part of the Veterans Middle School family.

Due to the forecast for heavy rain over the next two days, Donna ISD will be cancelling all Summer School and ACE programs for Wednesday, June 19th and Thursday, June 20th. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We hope 2025 is ready for our VMS staff because our staff is ready for the year! From Ms. Valdez, spotted in the wild picking out classroom supplies, to Mrs. Urbina showcasing her new student caddy carts with her 6th grade team group chat, and Ms. Chapa strategizing to bring upper grade level TEKS to vertically align. Content but never complacent, true warriors are built off the battlefield.

On Friday, Mrs.Camacho had the incredible opportunity to meet some of the Lipan Apache tribe members of the Rio Grande Valley during a training she was attending! How awesome is that!🤩

Mrs. Quiroga, is currently exploring the streets of London, England! 💂‍♂️
She's been sharing some amazing photos with us, giving us a sneak peek into her adventures. From Big Ben to Buckingham Palace, she's taking in all the sights and sounds of this incredible city. And the best part? She's not done yet! Her next stop is Germany, where we're sure she'll discover even more incredible experiences.🇩🇪

Look who our Dance Teacher Ms.Medrano found while at Summer Track Practice! Track & Field State Champion, Vince Castillo 🏃‍♂️🏆
Castillo is a Veterans Middle School Alumni and Donna ISD graduate. A two-time State Champion in the 300-meter hurdles, a bronze medalist in the 110-meter hurdles and qualifier for the State meet each of the four years he ran. A regional, area and district champion 🏆

Drumroll, please... the Donna ISD Board of Trustees has been named Region One's Outstanding School Board of the Year! This dedicated group sees their role as more than just a title—they are true advocates and champions for our students. We are fortunate to have these seven trustees leading our district. Their commitment to ensuring every Donna ISD student graduates on time, ready for college, career, or the military, is unwavering. They actively engage with students, staff, and the community in meaningful and positive ways. Now, they are among the top 20 school boards in the state, competing for the prestigious title of Texas Outstanding School Board. Congratulations to this remarkable group, and best of luck at the state level! We're all cheering you on!

Monday night baseball camp at Donna North was a home run! It was amazing to see our students in action, showing off their skills and having a blast. As part of the Dancerettes Officers leadership development meeting last week, they received a special gift from Mr. Garza - exclusive bracelets that represent the graduate attribute that was the focus point. And the best part? 👀

They are the FIRST students at VMS to receive these new bracelets! We're so proud of our Dancerettes Officers for their hard work and dedication. We can't wait to share these new bracelets with our students this upcoming school year!🎉
