Donna ISD is hosting the 2024 Bilingual/ESL Summit Saturday, February 10th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Donna High School. The Keynote presentation will take place at the Simon Sauceda Auditorium and breakout sessions will be held in the west wing. Topics will include cross linguistic connections, engagement vocabulary and rigor strategies, interactive notetaking, visible learning, biliteracy strategies, and translanguaging practices. Qualified teachers will receive a stipend. Participants will also receive a goodie bag, professional books, gift cards, and other items.

Once again, shoutout to our DISD educators who amaze us with their dedication as lifelong learners, joining us this beautiful Saturday in our Bilingual/ESL 2022 Spring Virtual Summit! Teachers and administrators were treated to sessions by Velazquez Press presenters. It was an awesome turnout with plenty of contribuciones and engagement during pedagogically rich sessions by Dr. Margarita Calderón, Dr. Susana Ibarra Johnson, Dr. Silvia Romero Johnson, and Keynote Speaker Dr. José Medina. Mil gracias for going the extra mile para mejor servir a nuestros estudiantes. ¡Son excepcional!
