Our FFA members were fortunate to attend the MO Farm Bureau Leadership Day in Jefferson City today. Members arrive at the MOFB headquarters where they heard opening remarks from Garrett Hawkins, MOFB President, before heading to the Capitol Building. There, they toured the capitol, visited with Rep. Keith Elliott, and spent time watching the day’s proceedings in the House chamber. The group then returned to the MOFB Headquarters for lunch and keynote speakers, which included Gov Mike Kehoe.

Day Three of District Contests-

Entomology came home second and qualified for state! Team members included Keitlynn Plumb, Aggie Schroeder, Brecken Barnett, and Emmett Cote.

Meats team rounded out our district teams with a seventh place finish. Team members include Peyton Schroeder, Byron Honeycutt, and Riley Johannsen.

Day two of District contest was a BIG day for our members!

To start the day, we found out our Horse Judging team, who competed last Friday, placed FOURTH and qualified for state! Team members include Sophie Berry, Peyton Schroeder, Josey Kennon, and Riley Johannsen.

Our Poultry team came home with a big FIRST place win today! Audrey Braschler (first high individual out of 85 in the contest), Hadley Elliott (fourth high individual), and Chase Langley (tenth high individual) made up this team That will compete at state in April.

To round out the day, our Parliamentary Procedure team won SECOND and advance to state! Byron Honeycutt served as chairman of the team that also included Keitlynn Plumb, Emmett Cote, Brecken Barnett, Alex Jones, Aggie Schroeder, and Peyton Schroeder.

Day one of district contests were held today at the Cape Technical Career Center with several of our members competing.

Audrey Braschler - Prepared Public Speaking Division 1 3rd Place - alternate to state

Emmett Cote- Prepared Public Speaking Division 2 4th Place

Byron Honeycutt - Extemporaneous Speaking 3rd place - alternate to state

Landon Slayton - Employment Skills 3rd place - alternate to state

Food Science - Cheston Meadors, Aggie Schroeder, and Anthony Wilson 5th place. Anthony was also the 2nd high Individual in the contest (that’s impressive for a freshman!)

Horses - Sophie Berry, Peyton Schroeder, Josey Kennon, and Riley Johannsen ?? We won’t know their results until next week

What a fun night! Our friends at the Senath Hornersville FFA Chaper hosted the Area Chili Cookoff this evening. We entered three pots of chili and all three brought home awards.
Peyton Schroeder won Most Unique Chili with her white chicken chili.
Kendal Schroeder was a repeat winner for Hottest Chili with his chocolate and habanero chili.
Mrs. Schroeder’s chili brought home the award for Best FFA Chili and the Best Overall chili trophy.
Emmett Cote, our resident FFA auctioneer, even volunteered his skills to help with the live auction.

The Doniphan FFA Chapter had a very successful afternoon yesterday at Area 16 Proficiency and Officer Interview night! We are proud of these students hard work and dedication that has led them to these achievements. The results are the following:

Emmett Cote: Officer Interview was selected for the 2026-2027 Area 16 Officer Team as Sentinel

Brecken Barnett: Proficiency - Outdoor Recreation - Placement Advancing to State

Landon Slayton: Proficiency - Agriculture Sales- Placement Advancing to State

Peyton Schroeder: Proficiency - Sheep Production - Entrepreneurship Advancing to State

Aggie Schroeder: Proficiency - Swine Production - Entrepreneurship Runner-Up

Today several of our members attended the In the Show Ring program, which is held during the MO Pork Producers annual convention at Lake of the Ozarks. In addition to becoming Show Me Quality Assurance certified, members learned about processing litters of piglets, AI-ing pigs, delivering piglets, giving injections, and more.
