Our fall book fair is Tuesday, October 20th-Friday, October 23rd (Early Dismissal)! The Lion of the Week for Oct. 5-9th is... Ms. Tyretta Sam! Here's what staff members had to say about Ms. Tyretta Sam: Ms. Sam has modeled on task characteristics by making sure she is planned and prepared daily. She even stays after school most days so her students have the appropriate materials ready for each block, and makes adjustments as needed. Every time someone walks into Ms. Sam's classroom, she is always teaching her students. The students are engaged in the activities and discussions amongst their peers. When they are not Ms. Sam redirects them to get back on task.

🔥 DREAM. LEARN. LEAD. 🔥


The Director of Primary Schools, Latatia Johnson, Ed.D. is passing the DREAM, LEARN, LEAD torch to our Core Leadership Team (Mrs. Jelice Chatman, Dr. Jaleathia Henry, Mrs. Amber Landry and Mrs. Jasmine Williams)! Dr. Johnson said, “It’s one thing to give teachers feedback, go into classrooms, and expect that feedback to transfer into practice. But it is something completely different when you, as leaders on this campus, internalize the feedback you receive, reflect on it, and intentionally implement it in ways that make others better. Over the last week, you have received a lot of feedback through multiple layers and multiple feedback loops. I have been most impressed by how you processed the feedback, internalized it, translated it into your leadership practices, and took actionable next steps to strengthen teaching and learning at Lowery Elementary School.

I am incredibly proud of this core team and the way you have responded, grown, and put feedback into action. You didn’t simply receive the feedback; you owned it, reflected on it, and used it to strengthen your leadership and impact.

I’m proud of each of you, and I’m proud to pass the torch to you all. I know you will continue to lead with the same openness, intentionality, and commitment to making Lowery Elementary better for every student and teacher. They are LEADING LIKE A LION!!!” 🦁
