📢 AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM UPDATE

Mt. Tipton’s after-school program will remain paused through the end of October while school and district staff work together to finalize a plan moving forward.

⏰ All students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

Please arrange for your child to ride their usual bus or be picked up at dismissal. We will share the official restart date as soon as the plan is finalized.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our families’ patience and understanding. 🖤💛

📚 Adventure is waiting at the Mt. Tipton Scholastic Book Fair! 📚

Visit us October 26–29, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Chess Room. Families are invited to join us for a special Book Fair event on October 29 from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

All students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. for the remainder of this week. Buses will leave the school at 3:10 p.m. There will be no after-school activities this week.

➕ Math Answer: 196 students
📚 ELA Answer: Although

For Math, the 7:1 ratio contains eight total parts. We divided 224 ÷ 8 = 28, then multiplied 28 × 7 = 196 students.

For ELA, “although” is the subordinating conjunction that introduces the dependent clause.

➕ **Math Answer:** 3 11/12 miles
📚 **ELA Answer:** Very easy

For Math, **2 ¼ + 1 ⅔ = 3 11/12 miles**.

For ELA, the idiom **“a piece of cake”** means that something is very easy—not that Maya brought dessert to the test! 🍰

For Math, we added **238 + 176 = 414**, then subtracted **95** to get **319 cans**.

For ELA, the wind was given the human action of **whispering**, making the sentence an example of personification.
