🎉 What an incredible kickoff to the school year! Our 2026 Back to School Carnival was a huge success, and it’s all thanks to you! It was wonderful to see our students, teachers, and community reunite to start the year with such amazing energy.

Spirit Day 2026 was a huge hit! A shout out to our parent volunteers who made it all possible! We also want to thank United Fund of Iowa County for their generous support of this event. It takes a community and we have an amazing one! 2025-2026 was a great year. We will see you back in August for the Back to School Carnival! Have a great Summer!

Help make Spirit Day amazing!

Spirit Day is May 28th and our elementary students look forward to it every year. Our kids will head over to the high school gymnasium for a celebration filled with awesome games and giant inflatables.

Teacher Appreciation Week 2026 concluded on an incredibly high note! For our grand finale, the staff enjoyed a delicious buffet provided by Corralejo Mexican Grill. The excitement continued as we drew raffle winners...

Because of the overwhelming generosity of our DES families and local businesses, we gave away 76 prizes—meaning EVERY single staff member went home a winner! 🏆 We couldn't have made this week so special without our amazing community and can't thank you enough for your support.

We would also like to thank the school board for all of their delicious contributions this week. The staff definitely felt the love from everyone!

Lastly, THANK YOU to our educators and staff. You are the heart of our school and truly deserve every bit of this celebration.

Today was a total sugar rush in the VIP lounge! 🍿✨ Our snack mix bar was a box-office hit, starring the legendary Rural Route 1 Popcorn alongside some seriously delicious dessert finishes. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to today's sweet success!

Tomorrow is the BIG day—we’re pulling raffle winners starting around lunch. 🎟️ The display is incredible! Stay tuned!

What a beautiful day at DES! Our halls were buzzing with positivity as staff received 'fan mail'—heartfelt notes from students and parents expressing their deepest gratitude. It’s a joy to see our team so celebrated!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Murphy Desmond S.C. and Dodger Bowl Lanes & Catering for sponsoring and preparing a delicious lunch for us today. It was the perfect treat for the most perfect day. 🧡

A huge shout-out to our wonderful DES families for hosting such a fantastic VIP lunch today! Thanks to your generous donations, teachers and staff enjoyed a delicious spread of sub platters and all the fixings. We are so grateful for your continuous support!

To gear up for the home stretch, they also stocked up on essential school supplies and added a personal touch with some really cool custom stickers.

Yesterday, we rolled out the red carpet for our incredible DES staff! They enjoyed a morning of "star treatment," complete with delicious pastries sponsored by Hi Point Steakhouse, freshly brewed coffee sponsored by Cook's Room Cafe' and a variety of fresh fruit provided by our generous DES families. We also handed out coupons for a little extra love. A huge thank you to Casey's, Culver's, and OTC Nutrition for your continued support of our school community!
