Today is the final day of Munchkins on Main.
8 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, & 4 days of daycare.
85 kids and 21 employees have came and gone through our door. 18 kids still here to love on every day!
These past 8 years+ have been a big ol’ learning lesson for Jake and I. With buying a commercial building, renovating it to become a daycare, successfully running the daycare, learning all we can to make sure it’s up to the best standards there are. Doing paperwork that seemed like it was never ending with the best mother in law, Peg, who didn’t have a choice but to help. At times I thought we were way over our heads but we got through it all and I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished in these short 8 years.
A big thanks to Chris Gray and everyone that helped us along the way at Nebraska Bank, (Farmers State bank when we started this 😉), and for giving us young kids all the money we needed to get it up and running and didn’t even bat an eye! That was crazy to me coming from a bigger town than Dodge, but so thankful they did everything they could for us!
Also a big thanks to our parents for believing in us when I said “let’s open a daycare!” My dad for co-signing before even coming to this town and seeing what he was co-signing for! 🤣 They never once doubted us and we are thankful for that!
I’d like to thank the town of Dodge for welcoming me and our business! Having an “outsider” come in and open a business on their Main Street I’m sure didn’t happen too often but everyone was supportive and helped make it a success!
And the parents and kids! Every single one of you will hold a special place in my heart! Watching so many of you from birth to when you went off to school makes me feel like your own mother! 🥲 I loved getting to know each and every family and all the munchkins! I greatly appreciate everyones support!
As for now I’ll still be here at daycare! It’ll just have new owners, new name and I won’t have as much to do! 🤪 I’ll be here until I have our baby in July and I’ll enjoy that little bundle a little more along with our other two!
