National School Lunch Week 2026

Get ready for a Cafeteria Circus! At Rockford Elementary School as we celebrate National School Lunch Week, October 12–16!

Our cafeteria team has planned a fun-filled week of themed meals that are sure to be a hit with our Gators!

Monday, October 12 – Tent Top Quesadilla
Chicken Quesadilla, Lettuce & Diced Tomatoes, Seasoned Black Beans, Crispy Corn, Mandarin Orange Pack, Pineapple America Fruit Cup, and Assorted Milk Options

Tuesday, October 13 – Ringmaster’s Favorites
Grilled Blackened Chicken Alfredo, Italian Garlic Breadstick, All-American Burger, Lettuce & Tomato, Dill Pickle Slices Cup, Seasoned Veggies, Emoji Fries, Orange Slices, and Assorted Milk Options

Wednesday, October 14 – Big Top Bites
Macaroni & Cheese Entree, Ham & Cheese on Brioche Bun, Dill Pickle Slices Cup, Seasoned Broccoli, Fresh Baby Carrots Cup, School-Made Ranch Dressing, Baked Ginger Pears, Papaya and Mango Cup, and Assorted Milk Options

On Tuesday, some of our 4th grade Save Promise students held an assembly for the student body on our new character trait of the month: Resilience. Resilience means learning from our mistakes and continuing to strive for our goals even if we fall sometimes. These 4th graders did an amazing job reading from the story, After the Fall, by Dan Santat and teaching our friends more about how we can keep trying even if we sometimes feel nervous, disappointed, or afraid. Everyone falls sometimes. Resilient people get back up, learn, and keep going! We hope everyone can learn from this message and take it with them this month of October and after. We always want to keep trying, even if at first we don't succeed!

This outstanding rating reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our students and staff.

Last week, our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes enjoyed a wonderful field trip to The Farm in Dobson, NC!

Our students had a great time exploring, learning about farm life, and enjoying hands-on experiences. We love giving our students opportunities to learn outside the classroom and make special memories with their classmates!

This Fire Prevention Week, let’s Charge into Fire Safety!

Our phones, tablets, laptops, toys, and other devices use rechargeable batteries every day. Help keep your family safe by making smart choices when charging:

• Use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
• Charge devices on a hard, flat surface.
• Never charge a damaged or swollen battery.
• Unplug devices when they are fully charged.
• Keep charging devices away from beds, pillows, and other materials that can catch fire.

Safe charging is a superpower!

Let’s work together to prevent fires and keep our Rockford families safe.
