We're excited to share a 100% rooting success rate on these Chambourcin × Cynthiana cuttings from the advanced breeding program of viticulture pioneer Jeff Bloodworth. Bloodworth is renowned for achieving what was long thought impossible: successfully crossing bunch grapes and muscadine grapes.

Now the fun begins as we watch this next generation of vines grow and show us what they're made of!

At the 2026 NC Fine Wines Competition, our student-produced wines earned:

🏅 Double Gold & Best Sparkling – 2021 Specialty Lot 155 Sparkling
🥇 Gold – 2025 Petit Manseng
🥈 Silver – Tannat NV

These awards mark 9 consecutive years of recognition at NC Fine Wines and add to more than 112 awards earned by Surry Cellars since 2009.

Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff for continuing a tradition of excellence in North Carolina wine.
