Looking for contact from staff members who were with us from 1985-1990!
The formative years.

Today, Saturday, June 15 would have been our 3rd staff orientation.
Iris, Samantha and I miss you all and hope you stay in touch ❤️

It feels a little strange. We are starting June and we are not reviewing parent packets, interviewing campers and staff.
The constant thoughts, however, are about our Campers ❤️.
(Staff as well)
Please keep in touch us so we can know how they are doing and about their summer plans!

Just visited by Colleen Sullivan (Brennen) one of the veteran staff of Our Victory Day Camp.
She is the kind of person that made our program so special.
She and her wonderful family lives in Pleasantville, has left the schools and now offers tutoring. Her experience with our population, love for all children and educational experience, would make her an excellent choice for your child.

TO ALL OUR CHERISHED STAFF AND DEVOTED PARENTS
( And to the many others who have been part of OVDC)

We have been putting this off as it is so hard to actually write the words “It’s over!”
25 Years, a magical ¼ of a century that we’ve been fortunate to share with so many of you.
To quote Sally “How can you be happy & sad at the same time?”
Out of the mouths of babes!

How many wonderful & sometimes, too honest, observations, have we heard?
“You’re old; when you die there won’t be any more camp. And many more “compliments”. Too numerous to mention.

So yes 2018 was the last summer of Our Victory Day Camp... There we’ve said it!
And yes it was hard. It made our throats hurt!
Why is it that when you’re ready to go to the Hair Dresser your hair looks better than ever? And last summer had to be the best summer of all, in all ways. I won’t go into detail, it just was!

We have often asked ourselves, what made our camp so special. We had no special equipment, no special grounds, and no trips. What we had was a great staff. A bunch of amazing young people, who worked their tushies off because they loved the kids, were there to do the best job they could do. Just because that’s who they were!

To say that we could go on & on is an understatement.
So we’ll say goodbye to all of you, Our Staff, Our wonderful campers, their wonderful parents, the warm and supportive people of Aldersgate, who welcomed us with open arms and to Ted who “maintained” our space and loved our staff and campers,.

To Samantha, our beautiful third daughter, you held it all together, and led the way for the staff to follow.

And to all of you! Please stay in touch and let us know “what’s happening.”
Remember! There will always be a place in our hearts for our “Cherished Staff and Devoted Parents”. And others!

Best contact is still Email at [email protected]
We are here for any questions and/or concerns.

Much Love,
Iris and Fred
