As a casual in-between class time leisure, her classmate decided to test out a cat-winged eyeliner trick on her.

The simple stroke of the charcoal black eyeliner painted along her eye and Emily-Ana Hernandez gained two things.

A new best friend and a passion for makeup.

Hernandez is a first-year student at Mercy University in the transition of changing her studies to major in general business administration with a minor in english. She created the Makeup Club in the middle of the Fall 2023 semester.

After instances of throwing up, feeling sick to her stomach, and contracting food poisoning this past fall semester, Mercy University student Elisabeth Lyngset created a petition that would gain student support in an attempt to change the future of Mercy’s dining.

Nearly 500 students signed a petition created by Lyngset criticizing meal plan options and food quality.

The petition has called out Mercy to let on-campus dorming students be able to have different meal plans options instead of one and have Mercy improve their food services, plus allow a forum with transparent communication to discuss all dining matters and address areas in need of improvement.
