Webster County Student Earns Internship with Sebree School Cafeteria
A WCHS has achieved an exciting milestone by earning an internship with the school district’s cafeteria program. Through hard work, determination, and support from teachers, staff, and, specifically, Sue Shelton, Food Services Director, Elmer Aguilar has taken an important step toward independence and career development.
As part of the internship, the Elmer will assist cafeteria workers with tasks such as food preparation, organizing supplies, and serving meals. This hands-on experience not only builds important job skills but also fosters confidence and inclusion.
The internship is part of the district’s broader initiative to support students with disabilities in gaining real-world experience and preparing for life after graduation. Administrators praised Elmer's growth throughout his time at WCHS, positive attitude and strong work ethic, noting that the program benefits the entire school community by promoting diversity and understanding.
Family members, teachers, and classmates have expressed pride in Elmer's accomplishment, celebrating it as a reminder of what can be achieved when opportunities are made accessible to all.
