Happy Holidays! We truly appreciate having had the opportunity to provide quality and professional martial arts to the Dixon community over the years. After much self-reflection we have decided the close our Dixon location. We will continue to offer martial art instruction in our primary dojang in Woodland. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors. K*k Sool!

I am thankful for my dad and the many other men and women of our armed forces, past and present, that have served in any capacity and for any length of time. Their bravery and selflessness are why we are free. I am a proud Air Force "brat" and am grateful to have grown up abroad and domestically. We may not know all the Veterans out there but we definitely appreciate you. Thank you veterans.

Bully Management Tip #31: Enroll your child in a program that builds confidence and gives them a sense of accomplishment and security. Training at the K*k Sool Won Martial Art Center is a great avenue for this. Text "Antibully" to 530-406-0618 to receive a special offer.

Bully Management Tip #30: Urge your child to buddy up with someone that is being bullying. We all have moments when we feel vulnerable and insecure. It is in these moments that having someone tell you that you matter and that you are valued are most important. Let your child know that by doing this they are making a difference in another person’s life. There will always be challenges in life, having support makes them more bearable.

Bully Management Tip #29: Go to the school counselor or principal with the suggestion of starting a student respect group that allows students to talk about bullying with a counselor individually or in a small group. This can be taken a step further by having teachers, yard duty, counselor, principal, etc. write up a note whenever they catch someone being respectful. These notes are dropped into a raffle bin and a name is pulled during assembly. That students earns a small prize or the winners are collected throughout the school and treated to a pizza party with other winners at the end of the school year.

Bully Management Tip #28: Go to the principal of the school with the suggestion of creating a “bully box” when students can drop anonymous notes about bullying incidents. This allows the principal to be aware of what is happening without someone “snitching.”

Bully Management Tip #27: Create a bully log. Track when it is happening, what is going on when it happens, who does it, what happened and what you or someone else did to end the moment. If it is via cyberbullying, print out ALL the emails, texts, etc., even if the email shows that you were equally guilty. Review this information with a trusted adult (i.e. teacher). Come up with a plan to manage the bullying. Be sure to track this as well, who you went to, what was done, if anything, etc. If nothing changes, move up the ladder to the next responsible adult (i.e. principal). Don't stop until you get the help your child deserves.
