I get the ick from parents who are so competitive…

they can’t stand to see someone else’s kid shine, too.

Because our kids are watching us.

They notice when we clap for their friends.
They notice when we celebrate someone else’s win.
And they definitely notice when we don’t.

Your child doesn’t lose anything because another child succeeds.

So clap when someone else’s kid scores the goal.
Cheer when they get the part.
Celebrate when they ace the test.

Teach your kids that someone else’s success is not their failure.

There is room for all of them.

Different talents.
Different moments.
Different victories.

Raise kids who root for other kids—even when they’re competing against them.

That kind of confidence will take them further than any trophy ever will.
