My name is Heather Savo and I am running for the 2022 School Board seat A. I am currently the incumbent for this seat and am finishing my first term. I would love to serve again. I am a former Alumni class of 2001. I have 4 children who attend Elementary , Middle and High school and one that has graduated! I am the Vice President of the Dillingham Parent Advisory Committee and have been on the board for 8 years. I am also very involved in the many activities going on at the school as my children are very active. I am running because I want to help make a difference in the education of our children. I have been apart of some great things while on the board and would like to continue to see these things through. I serve on the BBRCTE committee and have a passion to see our kids be able to have more opportunities while still in high school so they have a better idea of what they might want to do after graduation.
I currently have a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and currently work at Nushagak Cooperative as an Accountant.
I was raised here in Dillingham and in the surrounding villages as my mom was a teacher and later an administrator, and having Alaska Native children I understand the need to keep the culture alive.
I would appreciate your vote on October 4, 2022.
