This semester, our service learning project empowered students to make a tangible difference in their community by creating shelf-stable meal kits for the local Help Center. With funds raised from the sale of our basketball program, teams of 3-5 students were tasked with designing and budgeting a recipe using shelf-stable ingredients, including a protein source. Through online shopping and clever budgeting, they successfully assembled 100 meal kits, demonstrating the potential for collective action to drive positive change! Each of my JAG classes created a T-shirt/crew neck which they felt represented their individual classes. Each student was given a T-shirt paid for through fundraising from the sale of our Cougar Basketball Program. Thanks to TEN 22 for doing such a great job printing them!! JAG Tennessee

Emotional Support Monday…moved to Friday! DCHS JAG students were treated with a hotdog/s’mores event where they wrote their biggest concerns about the future on their marshmallows and “ROASTED THOSE FEARS!” Seen on marshmallows: paying for college, being homeless, not being successful, etc.
