Another round of district walkthroughs with our board members! We stopped by Diboll Junior High to visit classrooms, see Innovation Day in action, and check on the progress of renovations.

It was great to see students enjoying new experiences while teachers had time to collaborate and plan. Seeing the renovation work underway made us even more excited about what’s ahead for our students!

We appreciate our board members taking time to see the work firsthand, and our teachers, administrators, and staff for making it all happen every day. Proud to be a Lumberjack!

Several of our board members and community members visited Diboll High School and Junior High for a firsthand look at the exciting things happening in our buildings! From the Go Center to classrooms and CTE programs, our guests were impressed by the learning taking place and the many opportunities available to our students.

These visits showcase the hard work our teachers and administrators do every day to help students discover their interests, build their skills, and prepare for their futures. Thank you to our guests for taking the time to see that work in action and to our staff for opening so many doors for our students!

When stress shows up, what does your teen reach for?

The coping skills they build today can shape the choices they make tomorrow, especially when substances become part of the conversation. Talk with your teen about simple, healthy coping strategies:

🏈 Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique: inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. It helps calm the nervous system and create space before reacting.

🚶 Get moving with a walk, stretching, or shooting hoops.

🎵 Express emotions through music, art, or creative activities.

📝 Journal thoughts and feelings to work through challenges.

And then, practice together. Teens learn more from what we do than what we say. By modeling healthy ways to handle stress, you're helping build resilience and strengthening their defense against risky behaviors.

Visit angelinacoalition.org/resources to access the Prevention Playbook for Parents, available in English and Spanish, with practical tips and tools to help families support healthy decision-making and reduce risk.

The Drug-Free Council program is funded by a grant from TxDOT to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes in Texas.
