Stained Glass Bat Workshop

Something a little dark and beautiful is coming to the glass studio this September!

Join us September 26 from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM and create your very own stained glass bat from start to finish.

✨ $75 per student

✨ Beginner through advanced students welcome
🥤 Bring a beverage, snacks and/or a light lunch
👟 Closed-toe shoes are required

Never worked with stained glass before? That’s okay! This workshop is a great opportunity to learn, while more experienced glass artists can enjoy spending the day creating a gorgeous new piece.

NEW 4-WEEK FALL CLAY CLASS! 🏺

Spend your Monday afternoons getting creative with clay at DSFA!

Join us for a 4-week, higher-level clay class designed primarily for adults, with mature students ages 12+ welcome. Students will create, shape, glaze, and finish a variety of beautiful and functional pieces while learning in a focused, professional studio environment.

✨ Plan to take home approximately 5–6 finished pieces, with projects focusing on:
🕯️ Votive candle holders
🥣 Handmade bowls
🥄 Spoon rests
🏺 Plus additional functional clay pieces!

📅 Mondays | September 14 – October 5
⏰ 1:00–3:00 PM
💲 $185 per person
🎨 Ages 12–Adult | Primarily an adult class
🏺 All supplies and firings included
✨ Approximately 5–6 finished pieces

Homeschool students ages 12+ are welcome! Please keep in mind that this is a higher-level learning experience in a professional classroom setting. Younger students should be prepared to work alongside adults, follow instruction, remain focused, and work independently when appropriate.

Whether you already love working with clay or you're ready to try something new, come spend four Monday afternoons creating pieces you'll actually be excited to take home and use!

🎓✨ Inspiring the Next Generation of Artists!

A huge thank you to Vic Gauthreaux for helping make today possible for our DSFA students!

Our students had the incredible opportunity to tour the MGCCC IMPACT Center and facilities, meet and talk with program directors, and learn more about the opportunities available to them as they begin thinking about their next steps.

There is something so special about giving young artists the chance to see what their future could look like—to walk through the spaces, ask questions, explore career and education paths, and leave excited about what comes next. 💜

We are incredibly grateful for community partners who invest in our students and help create meaningful experiences like this. Days like today remind our students that their dreams have a next step—and a place to grow.

The DSFA team had such a great time last night at the Hancock Chamber Annual Gala! We were incredibly honored to be nominated for Nonprofit of the Year alongside organizations doing amazing work throughout our community. 💜

It was a beautiful evening filled with community, celebration, and plenty of fun! We are grateful to be part of a place where so many people and organizations work together to make a difference.

Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and winners, and a huge great job to the Hancock Chamber for putting together such a fantastic evening!

Our team had a blast! 🎉💜

The stage is set, our performers are ready, and Imagination Unlocked: A Fine Arts Gala is officially prepared! 🎭🎨🎶🩰

After tonight’s dress rehearsal, we are more excited than ever to put on a GREAT show for our community tomorrow night! Our students and volunteers have worked incredibly hard, and we cannot wait to share an evening filled with dance, theatre, music, art, and a whole lot of imagination. 💜

Tomorrow night, we UNLOCK IMAGINATION together! 🔑✨

🖤 A legend has taken his final bow.

Today, the theatre world lost the incomparable Tim Curry, whose fearless, unforgettable performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter helped turn The Rocky Horror Show into a cultural phenomenon that has endured for more than 50 years.

At Diamondhead School of Fine Arts, Rocky Horror holds a special place in our hearts. Each year, our own team steps into this wonderfully strange world, and in doing so, we get to celebrate a tiny piece of the theatrical legacy Tim Curry helped create.

He reminded generations of performers that theatre can be bold, weird, funny, daring, unapologetic—and completely unforgettable.

For those of us who love Rocky Horror, the Time Warp will never quite feel the same.

Thank you for the music, the laughter, the characters, and a performance that changed theatre forever.

Rest well, Tim Curry. 🖤🎭

🎶 Celebrating Our Vibrant Voices! 🎶

We are so proud of our Vibrant Voices girls! 💜

This special Sunday singing group has already accomplished so much together. They performed three songs as the opening act for Alice in Wonderland JR. 🎭, and now they are gearing up to take the stage again at our Imagination Unlocked Gala!

This past Sunday, we took a little time to celebrate everything these sweet girls have accomplished together. Watching their confidence, friendships, and voices grow has been such a joy!

And the good news… Vibrant Voices will be opening back up for our upcoming production of Finding Nemo JR.! 🐠🌊

If your student loves to SING LOUD, have fun, and perform—but isn’t looking for a huge rehearsal commitment—check out Vibrant Voices (VV) when you come to our Finding Nemo JR. auditions!

💃 BELLY DANCING IS BACK AT DSFA! 💃

WOW — what a great first class back! 🔥

Don’t let the name fool you — this one-hour class hits HARD! Belly dancing is so much more than shaking your hips to the music. It’s a full-body workout that challenges your legs, arms, core, balance, and coordination — all while having an absolute blast!

Our first class back brought the energy, and we are already ready for another round! 🙌

👀 Keep an eye out — Belly Dancing will be BACK next month at DSFA!
