We wrapped up our final two weeks of Pre-K Prep with our Pond Life theme! 🐸💚

As our first year of Preschool Prep comes to a close, we’re feeling so grateful to all of the families who trusted us with their little learners. It’s been such a special year!

Over the past two weeks, we explored all things pond life:
🐥 Counting songs and movement during circle time
📚 Pond vocabulary and non-fiction picture books about ducks, frogs, turtles
🎨 Duck & frog puppet crafts to build creativity and fine motor skills
🐸 “Catch the fly” game for coordination and focus
🖌️ Process art pond paintings using bubble wrap
✂️ Cut-and-paste matching practice
💧 Water sensory play exploring sink/float
🐢 And a very special visit from Todd the Turtle!

🌸🐞 Bugs & Flowers Fun in Pre-K! 🐝🦋

Over the past two weeks, our little Pre-K Prep learners explored the world of bugs and flowers with lots of hands-on play, stories, and eco-friendly crafts!

We painted bumblebees, created snails, and explored a bug-filled sensory table. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, practiced counting by “feeding” our caterpillar, and learned all about the butterfly life cycle before making our own sparkly butterflies 🦋

We went on a bug hunt with magnifying glasses, learned about dragonflies and built our own! We also explored the parts of a flower, made beautiful spring wreaths, and even created mini gardens using recycled materials 🌱

So much learning, creativity, and fun packed into two weeks! 🌼

...Rainbows & Leprechauns in Pre-K Prep! 🍀🌈

We kicked off Session 4 of Pre-K Prep at with two weeks of colorful, hands-on learning, creativity, and a little bit of magic ✨

Here’s a peek at what we explored:

🌈 Grew our own rainbows with a fun science experiment (making predictions + observations!)
🎨 Built 3-D rainbows by matching colors and strengthening fine motor skills
🍀 Practiced color matching with coins and shamrocks
❄️ Got messy with frozen rainbow paint sensory play
💚 Made shamrock suncatchers (hello fine motor skills!)
🌈 Created rainbow + pot of gold crafts while learning positional words
🎭 Designed leprechaun masks for imaginative play
📚 Read books about rainbows and St. Patrick’s Day

So much learning through play, and we’re just getting started with Session 4! 💫

We got pretty messy this week in Pre-K Prep… 🤪

We froze rainbow paint into popsicles and let the kids paint all over a giant table covered in white paper. Of course, this quickly turned into a colorful, squishy, melty sensory experience… and the kids LOVED it!

The whole table became a giant collaborative masterpiece. Yes, it was messy! And yes… it was absolutely worth it!!

Here’s why activities like this are so powerful for young children:

✨ Sensory exploration
Feeling the cold paint melt in their hands engages the senses and helps build important brain connections.

✨ Fine motor development
Gripping and moving the popsicles strengthens the small muscles in their hands that are needed for writing later on.

✨ Creativity & experimentation
Kids naturally start mixing colors, making marks, and discovering what happens when the paint melts together.

✨ Process over product
There’s no “right way” to do it. The learning happens through the experience, not the final picture.

And the mess? It’s part of the learning!

When we give children permission to explore freely, get messy, and follow their curiosity, we’re helping them build confidence, creativity, and a love of learning.

Sometimes the most magical moments happen when we say:
“Go ahead… make a mess!” 💛

I’ve been kinda quiet over here in my little corner of the internet… but I’m finally ready to share some exciting news!!

I recently paused my craft club classes because I started a new job as the full-time manager at !

This place is very special to me for many reasons! It’s where I first started teaching my little craft classes on the weekends… hauling in supplies, setting up messy sensory tables, and sharing my love of art and creativity with families. It’s where I helped build and launch their new Pre-K Prep program. It’s where so many of my ideas were supported, encouraged, and allowed to grow.

And now… I get to help lead it! 🥰

There’s just something really special about growing ~with~ a place… not just working there, but building programs, relationships, and a community inside its walls. And watching it evolve while I evolve, too.

Change can feel big and scary. But sometimes it also feels aligned. And this feels aligned. 💙

And of course with this big change, Curious Creators will now look a lot different than it did as a kids’ craft club that started in my basement… But I’m excited for what’s to come!

So, if you’ve been here since the very beginning or you’re a brand new follower, thanks for being here & sticking around as we continue to evolve and change!! Stay tuned…

❄️ Snow days won’t stop the fun in Pre-K Prep at ! ❄️

Despite all the cold temps and winter weather lately, Pre-K Prep is back in full swing and our little learners are so happy to be together again!

We’ve been easing back into routines, welcoming new friends, and diving into our Arctic learning theme with lots of hands-on, play-based fun. 🐧🧊

From melted snowman paintings to ice crystal sensory play and circle time songs, the kids have been learning, exploring, and thriving—even on the chilliest days! 💙

We’re so glad to be back and can’t wait for all the fun still ahead for Session 3!!

🍪✨ Wrapping up Session 2 of Pre-K Prep at with the sweetest GINGERBREAD fun! ✨🍪

Over the past two weeks, our Pre-K Prep friends have been busy learning and playing through festive, hands-on activities:

🏠 Ordering treats & waiting in line at our Gingerbread Bakery
🎨 Decorating gingerbread houses and ornaments with gems, glitter, cinnamon & candy
🧲 Building gingerbread houses with Magnatiles, bells & pipe cleaners
🏖️ Kinetic sand + cookie cutters for sensory play
🟤 “G is for Gingerbread Man” dot marker art
🍬 Color identification and feeding the Gingerbread Man during circle time

It was the perfect way to wrap up Session 2 before the holidays! 💛
