Hi everyone! We know how stressful this time of year is— AP testing and finals are just around the corner. But, hang in there!
We hope you'll relax with us tomorrow in the DBHS lower quad at lunch. We'll be going over ways our project will alleviate stress in the DBHS community. Drumline will be performing, and we'll be hosting a guided meditation session.
Hope to see you all tomorrow! Keep well. :)

HUMANS OF DIAMOND BAR
Saadia Naqvi
1. How important do you think it is to connect with nature?
I think it's very important because we are always focused on academics and we need to take a step back to appreciate what's around us.
2. How can the Wellness Center work with Seeds of Wellness in creating the aromatherapy garden?
The importance of nature needs more awareness in general. We can use peer counseling techniques, and use the smell and aesthetic beauty of flowers to relieve stress.
3. What do you think the causes of stress are? We have a lot of focus on academics and in the process we lose touch with our environment and what's important to us.

This week we were honored to work with Betsy Haffner from the Diamond Bar Community Garden. Her work has encouraged us to grow our own therapy garden at Diamond Bar High School. The dedication she has shown in saving endangered species and sustaining the future has inspired us to learn and teach others the importance of connecting with nature. Thank You!

A few members of Mr. Malveaux's two APES teams joined together in an AP with WE service project. We talked to 120 students from Castle Rock Elementary School, with our presentation revolving around the fundamental question: Why is water so important?
We'd like to thank Mr. Hong for introducing us to this opportunity. To learn more about our project, you can visit our website: www.wishingwell1.weebly.com

It was so great to be able to host Taiwanese students in our classroom for a few days. Environmental problems are global problems, and only when we join hands can we work towards solutions.
We can't wait to share project details with you all during the upcoming weeks. Keep reading our posts to follow our journey. Together, we can intersect the ideals of hope and nature.

Seeds of Wellness will intersect the ideals of hope and nature through the building of a Diamond Bar High School therapy garden. Students will be able to discover peace through a myriad of aromatherapy plants proven to facilitate interaction with the healing elements of nature. Through our project, we will be planting Seeds of Wellness.
