When scholars grow, parents need resources too.

👨🏾‍👩🏾‍👧🏾 CAAP Parent Workshops are one of the many ways we support the entire family throughout a scholar’s educational journey.

Parents receive information and resources to help navigate academics, college preparation, financial aid, scholarships, opportunities, and the decisions that come along the way.

Parent Workshops are part of CAAP’s larger programming, including Reading Circle, PALS, Junior/Senior Workshop, Legacy Roundtable, academic support, college preparation, educational opportunities, and more.

📖 PALS is one of the many CAAP programs designed to help scholars strengthen their academic skills, confidence, habits, and preparation for what comes next.

CAAP believes college preparation doesn’t begin in senior year. Building strong students starts much earlier.

PALS is part of a larger network of CAAP programs that includes Reading Circle, Junior/Senior Workshop, Legacy Roundtable, Parent Workshops, college preparation, academic support, educational opportunities, and more.

WHY CAAP? Because preparation creates possibilities. 🎓

Black scholars have the talent. The question is whether they have consistent access to the academic preparation, resources, exposure and support that help turn that talent into opportunity.

Consider this: In 2021–22, U.S. colleges awarded 61,074 STEM degrees and certificates to Black students. Yet Black students received only 7% of all STEM bachelor’s degrees awarded that year. And just 15% of bachelor’s degrees earned by Black students were in STEM fields. (National Center for Education Statistics⁠)

That’s why strong foundations in math, science, technology, reading and critical thinking matter long before college applications begin.

CAAP helps scholars build those foundations from elementary through high school through Reading Circle, PALS, Legacy Roundtable, Junior/Senior Workshop, college preparation, leadership development, cultural affirmation and family involvement.
