Celebrate Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day!
Today we celebrate our precious 🌍, our one and only home.
That's why the 🇪🇺 is committed to becoming climate-neutral by 2050, so that future generations can celebrate planet Earth, just as we can.

Here's why you might see the northern lights this Halloween weekend
A solar flare eruption from earlier this week is expected to reach Earth on Saturday and Sunday, creating the potential for the aurora borealis to be visible across large parts of the U.S.

These crisp clear mornings are giving a nice view of Jupiter. The photo quality is poor, but you can see the Moon (Luna) the star Spica directly below the Moon, and Jupiter off to the right.

Today, is Astronomy Day, which occurs Saturday between mid-April and mid-May, so as to occur close to the first quarter Moon. Post some pictures of your night sky here.

A little naked eye astronomy and entertainment at the bus-stop in the morning. We have three prominent planets in our morning sky.

On the 20th of November we may enjoy a clear morning sky in the Dexter-Ann Arbor area. Here is an image showing the position of the comet (the red cross-hairs) as you look East at 6:30 am. The brightest object low on the horizon will be Mercury. The star that's shown up and to the right of Mercury is Spica. The comet ISON will be mid-way between them.
Good luck observing and please send photos!
