Next weekend, May 30th-31st, I will be at the Detroit Central Market inside Greenfield Village. Their theme for the weekend is: flowers! I'll have two tables full of fresh beeswax candles (classic and floral-themed), and a third table with over 100 fancy handmade floral greetings cards for all occasions. The market area is open from 10:00-4:00 both days, and I hope to see many of you there! Other weekend exhibits and demonstrations around the village include floral dying, cheese-making, sheep-shearing, weaving, glassblowing, and pottery demonstrations!

NEW Limited Edition teacup candles are here!

Although the weather in some parts of the country may be bleak, we have some new cheer here at Aurum Naturals: teacup candles! A friend had some leftover cup-and-saucer sets after a birthday party, so I have made them into candles. These would make a pretty gift for Valentine's Day, or for warming one's spirits on these cold and snowy days. After using the candle, the cups may be briefly frozen to remove any remaining wax, then cleaned/washed, and used for a lifetime of tea! The Great Colorful Candle Clearance Sale of 2026 is here! I try to keep the candle prices low/fair throughout the year, so I'm typically not able to offer sales. This is an exception to clear out candles that were made pre-2025, before I changed suppliers of white beeswax and dye. "Old" beeswax burns just as well as new beeswax-- in fact, beeswax can be preserved for thousands of years! However, I now use a triple-filtered white beeswax from North Carolina, which retains the wonderfully sweet honey fragrance of traditional yellow beeswax straight from the hive. The old white wax came from a supplier in Illinois whose wax is also mechanically filtered with no chemicals or bleaching agents, though the old wax has a more neutral and slightly pungent odor. Additionally, I transitioned to an ECO dye which is REACH-certified and RAL-certified, and free of phthalates and parabens. The older colored candles were made with standard dye from CandleChem, so they are available at a substantial discount until the inventory is gone! We have chime candles in white, pink, purple, light blue, and dark blue; several sizes and styles of pillar and taper candles in white; a few vibrant bright "hot pink" tapers left over from a special order; and several Advent sets! We also have some red taper candles made with the new ECO dye this Christmas season, sold at a discount due to blemishes or imperfections on the candle surfaces.
