UPDATE ON BEN'S HEALTH AND OUR FAMILY:
By now, some of you may be humming The Muppet Song, quoted at the end of my recent post "PRIVATE COACHING FOR AUDITION PREP."
I am currently increasing my studio hours. I teach private acting and singing lessons at Carrie Jay Studio.

As most of you know, Ben was unable to work most of last year, due to complications from his cancer and treatments.
Our finances are in a very tough position right now, and so I am expanding my studio business.
The good news: Ben had an "all-clear, no evidence of cancer" at his most recent cystoscopy last week.
The bad news: Ben's system is still not functioning healthily. His body is not getting rid of toxins (heavy metals, etc.) and is not taking up nutrients as it should. Ben is working to heal his digestive tract. He is also doing at-home physical therapy to regain his strength, after having been forced to be prone for over seven months last year.
In the meantime, Ben is feeling stronger every day. He is working from home on his own business. He does genealogy information publishing on the internet.

The numbers are coming in.

Our estimate for Ben's testing, surgery, and initial chemotherapy were accurate. Your help thus far has been critical in providing those initial services for Ben.

Now the reality of cancer treatment is here.

We have updated our new goal amount with the actual bill totals that have begun coming in, along with estimates for Ben's cancer treatment we are immediately facing.

Bladder cancer has an extremely high recurrence rate. We are doing everything possible to lower that rate, and restore Ben to top health.

REMINDER FOR WORKSHOP AND AUDITIONS AT CHS!


The CHS Fall Musical is Guys & Dolls. Auditions are open to all CHS students and homeschoolers in the district. Auditions are Monday, September 9, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, September 11, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Come either Monday OR Wednesday to audition. Bring 16-32 bars of a musical theater song, sheet music, and dress up. Callbacks are Thursday, September 12, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. First rehearsal is Friday, September 13, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Performance dates are November 15 through 17.

There will be an Open Audition Workshop with the director, Carrie Jay Sayer, on Friday, September 6 at 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium. This will help actors prepare for auditions next week. It is not required, but recommended for those considering trying out.

Come and join the fun! No experience necessary!
