Due to a schedule conflict Dexter High School HOMECOMING has been moved to the 2nd game of the season on Friday, September 6th at 7 p.m. Homecoming coronation at 6:30 p.m. and Community Tailgate from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. We will host the Sikeston Bulldogs! This is also our season home opener!!!

Congratulations to the DHS Jazz Band and receiving positive marks at the MAC Jazz Festival last Saturday! Outstanding Musician certificates were awarded to Joseph Fortner on the Baritone Saxophone and Ricardo Martinez on the Trumpet! The jazz band is looking forward to their next event at The Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival on April 12th

A new Drum major must be selected to lead the Bearcat Marching Band under the Friday Night lights for the 2024-2025 school year. A two day Drum Major clinic will be hosted on April 30th-May 1st directly after school. On Thursday, May 2nd Drum Major auditions will begin. Any current band freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to audition. All candidates must have a one page paper on why they would like to lead the Bearcat Marching Band by May 1st. If you are interested, please stop by Mr. Walker’s office to grab 3 teacher recommendation forms and clinic information.

Finally after about 3 years the Dexter High School Jazz Band has performed at the Clark Terry Jazz Festival at SEMO! An outstanding soloist certificate was awarded to our very own Ricardo Martinez! We’re very excited to kick off our Jazz performances for the semester with SEMO. We’ll be traveling a lot this year so stay tuned!
