We had a day of fun with balloons today!! There was so much laughter and excited voices as the kids got to pick their color out and tried to keep them from landing on the floor. I then strung yarn across the room so they could play balloon volleyball! After we played with them and got some energy out, the kids got to decorate them. I love the creativity that these kids have! The younger kids got to decorate them with stickers. The older kids decided to turn their balloons into animals and tied string onto them as leashes making them their pets! We ended the morning with music time and had one of the kids’ favorite lunches…pizza bagels! It was loud and somewhat chaotic at times 🤪 but we had a great morning!

We are making the best of these rainy mornings with 8 busy kiddos! We took a step back in time and watched W***y Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! I love that this generation loves this movie as much as mine does! We finished up our morning with an ice cream party! Vanilla ice cream, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, sprinkles and cherries on top! We ended our morning with kids yoga and dancing to get our energy out. After rest time, our afternoon crew had a great game of Headbands out on the back patio! Another great summer day!

We have a new friend starting with us this week! Welcome Mila! The girls did a great job this morning showing Mila all of the toys and helping her get comfortable. We also got to have a water play day and popsicles! So thankful for a hot, sunny day to enjoy the slip and slide, water squirters and hose. Mila had a great first day and is a great addition to our group!

Being forced to stay inside is definitely bringing out the imaginations in these girls! They played a fun game of hide-n-seek right after breakfast. Then they decided to do some Free Art in the Art room and before I knew it, there was a zombie apocalypse happening (according to them😆🫣). They hid out in the Art room creating their own story line as they went. They dove back into the dress up clothes and we ended the morning with clean up. They got to eat lunch in the living room while watching a Minions movie. Another great day together!

With the heat advisory and haze from the Canadian wild fire smoke, we decided to stay in and let our imaginations take over. The kids dove into my dress up clothes! The school agers were inspired to put on mini plays. The younger group loved using all the accessories and switching into different outfits. We then cleaned up and had music time and lunch!

I had a wonderful vacation last week with family and was ready to welcome all of the kids back today! Everyone was excited to see their friends and it felt like we hadn’t been apart! The kids were super excited to have the Barbie Dreamhouse brought out to play with! It is one of the favorite toys and is only brought out in the summer. After breakfast and playing, we went outside to play in the water. The kids played with the hose, filled buckets, squirted each other and me with water🫣 and poured water into the sand box and down the slide. We ended the morning with music time and lunch! The kids all fell asleep quickly at rest time!

Today we read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” at Circle Time and the kids loved it so much, they all wanted to pretend to be caterpillars and butterflies! They completed the Letter of the Week page, Letter U is for Universe. They placed star stickers and circle stickers for planets and moons on their page. We then went outside and had a blast swinging, blowing bubbles, playing ball and playing chase!

Today we introduced our new letters for the next 2 weeks, “U, N” at Circle Time. We read the letter “U” Sesame Street book, counted on the Calendar, talked about the weather and our new Insect Unit. It was a beautiful day to play outside!
