One of my best pranks ever - Wrinkles The Clown on RING!
My 8 year-old son Brody loves practical jokes and to be scared. He has determined that clowns are his biggest fear. Yesterday, he did a quick online search for scary clowns and came across the Wrinkles the Clown Urban Legend.
Basically, a guy in Florida who you can call up to scare your kids as a clown. (Brilliant idea by the way and kudos to the marketing behind “the documentary” – it’s perfect!). An urban legend ends up being created around Wrinkle’s antics that if you call him he may come and kill you.
So, calling Wrinkles is like saying Bloody Mary 3 times into a mirror.
Brody was fascinated so he had Alexa call the Wrinkle the Clown # to see if it was real and test his fate.
Bingo! You get the exact message that is in the documentary video. Super excited he hangs up thinking that if you don’t leave a message the danger won’t happen.
BUT… I immediately chime in that Wrinkles probably has caller ID and will know that the call came from our house.
Brody’s 8 year old imagination kicks in and he’s full into what if scenarios and how he’ll stop Wrinkles.
Then Brody remembers that we have RING but haven’t installed it yet, so he insists I install RING for protection and to document if Wrinkles shows up. Last night while he’s getting ready for bed he reminds me no less than 10 times to install RING it’s important.
I installed RING and set up the Prank below, so that when Brody reviewed the footage from the night, he’d see Wrinkle’s the Clown. My awesome wife Jules (who simultaneously loves and hates my pranks) is humorously pi**ed and I’ll be paying for Brody’s counseling for years, but it was worth it.
I highly recommend you do the same so, here is how to set up the prank:
1. Watch this video on Wrinkle’s the Clown. That sets the stage of the Urban Legend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSOt0Ks97_E
2. Call Wrinkles 407-734-0254 (you’ll get the VM) – for us we didn’t leave a message we left it that Wrinkles would know who called through caller ID and could find us if he wanted to.
3. Use this photo on your laptop, put the brightness down low on your laptop. I used live feed on Ring for the video. 4. Delete your Ring Videos of the set up and only leave the video you want to be seen.
