Last week, our sixth and seventh graders worked with Ryan’s Case for Smiles, a national nonprofit that creates colorful cotton pillowcases for children facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

They learned how to use sewing machines and ironed their pillowcases with the help and guidance of the Ryan’s Case for Smiles staff who came to campus.

Our eighth graders visited Dunwoody Village Retirement Community, where they played games and spent time engaging with the residents.

What does a Devon education look like once a young man leaves campus?

Sometimes, the best answer comes from the young men who have lived it.

We welcomed several recent alumni back to Devon to reflect on their college journeys, the lessons they carried with them, and the ways their time at Devon prepared them for what came next.

From the classroom to the playing field, from friendships to faith, Devon is about more than preparing young men for college. It is about preparing them for life.

And perhaps the best measure of that preparation is seeing our alumni come back, share their stories, and remind us that what begins at Devon continues well beyond these halls.

Alumni Ready for Beyond. Always With You.

Today, we opened the newly renovated Devon Prep weight room! Students and staff explored the new space that was completely renovated over the summer. The new weight room is equipped with state-of-the-art workout equipment, an open floor plan, dedicated home and away locker rooms, and a new shower area.

Students now have a dedicated space for their bags, plenty of room to pump some iron, and can go to coaches’ offices housed in the new space. There are more upgrades on the way soon! Key card access doors, more storage, and new designs are right around the corner.

Homecoming was one for the books! 🎉

Last week, our students came together for a night of music, friends, laughter, and plenty of dancing. From the first song to the last, it was a great reminder that some of the best parts of the Devon experience happen when our students simply get to enjoy being together.

A great night with an even better community. 💙💛

Last week, several Devon Prep students traveled to Harrisburg for the Pennsylvania March for Life, joining thousands of students, families, and community members for a day centered on reflection.

For our students, experiences like this extend learning beyond the classroom and invite them to engage thoughtfully with the issues and values that shape our world.

We are proud of the young men who represented Devon Prep with thoughtfulness, respect, and a spirit of community.

Last week, we invited all families in our Devon Prep Community to celebrate Mass together to kick off the year. We joined in community to pray for a successful year for our boys, to give thanks to God for blessing this community, and to praise him on the Sabbath.

After Mass, we gathered together in the field house for a fantastic brunch and heard from our spotlight speaker, Kathleen Weir (’23, ’26, ’26). Having sent 3 boys to Devon and getting back 3 young men, she shared this piece of advice: “Show up. Be engaged in your son's time at Devon, because it will go quicker than you think.”

Thank you to all the families that joined us to celebrate Mass.

Devon Preparatory School officially kicked off our STEM Research Partnership with Villanova University! Thanks to Devon’s summer sponsorship, two Villanova undergraduate scholars were able to advance their research over the summer. Today at our kickoff luncheon, they presented their work to eight Devon high school students.

Over the coming semester, these Villanova researchers will mentor our Devon seniors and juniors through hands-on, high-level scientific research.
