Happy National Higher Education Day! π
Today we're celebrating something we believe in deeply: that every student deserves access to higher education, regardless of their zip code or their bank account.
For the 1,000+ students we serve each year through our Next Level Scholars program, this day is personal. We're proud to walk alongside them as they take some of the biggest steps of their lives.
Thank you to every family, donor, and partner who makes this work possible. Together, we're opening doors that might otherwise stay closed π

π’ Attention students and families: the FAFSA deadline is June 30th!
That's less than a month away, and we want to make sure every student in our community crosses the finish line. Submitting your FAFSA is one of the most important steps toward making college a reality. Don't let the deadline sneak up on you.
Visit fafsa.gov to apply or check your status. And as always, if you have questions or need support, DRDFS is here to help π

Last week, Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars Executive Director Christa Funk attended the Mackinac Policy Conference, joining leaders from across Michigan for conversations about education, workforce development, philanthropy, business, and the future of our state.
Throughout the conference, one message remained clear: students must remain at the center of the work. Discussions focused not only on policy and systems, but on the actions needed to better support students and help them achieve their goals.
DRDFS is grateful for opportunities like these that foster collaboration, spark new ideas, and strengthen our collective commitment to creating brighter futures for Michigan students π

73% of our DRDFS Class of 2028 are first-generation college students, and that is something worth celebrating! π
These students are stepping into something new, often without a roadmap. That is where we come in!
At Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars, our mission is to help students navigate the process, from applications to next steps, with the support and guidance they deserve. Because no student should have to figure it all out on their own.
