Happy Birthday Malcolm X

On this day, we honor Malcolm X, a voice of clarity, courage, and uncompromising truth.

Malcolm X challenged America to confront its conscience, its contradictions, and its humanity. His words were not meant to comfort, but to awaken. Decades later, his legacy still demands thought, reflection, and responsibility.

His life remains a testament to growth, conviction, and the power of historical understanding.

On this day in 1966, Bill Russell shattered barriers by becoming the first Black head coach in the NBA while still an active player. A dominant force on the court and a transformative leader off it, Russell didnโ€™t just win, he redefined what leadership looked like. He was inducted as a player into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1975, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest ever to do it. Today, we honor player and coach Bill Russell.

Honoring the legacy of Jesse Jackson means more than remembrance; it means responsibility. His lifeโ€™s work challenged injustice, expanded opportunity, and reminded us that progress is never accidental. We protect that legacy by continuing the work, safeguarding the history, and ensuring future generations understand the shoulders upon which they stand.

Rev. Jesse Jackson joined the ancestors today. He dedicated his life to uplifting the people. I am blessed to have called him brother and to be amongst the people he touched. Rest in Paradise Rev. Jackson.

Today, we mourn the passing of a civil rights icon whose voice for justice, equality, and human dignity shaped generations. From marching with Dr. King to challenging the highest offices in the land, his lifelong commitment to uplifting the oppressed will never be forgotten. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธโœจ
