After more than 40 years of serving children and families in our community, we share the bittersweet news that First Baptist Destin Preschool will be closing its doors.
For four decades, these classrooms and hallways have been filled with little footsteps, laughter, learning, prayer, friendships, milestones, and countless memories. Generations of children have walked through our doors, and so many wonderful teachers, staff members, families, church members, and community supporters have poured their hearts into making this preschool such a special place.
While this chapter is coming to a close, we are grateful that the opportunity to serve children and families will continue through a new partnership with Village Baptist Church. As we navigate this transition, our hope is that the love, care, faith, and commitment to early childhood education that have been at the heart of our preschool for so many years will continue to impact families in our community.
There truly are not enough words to capture what 40 years of First Baptist Destin Preschool has meant. This has never simply been a building or a childcare program. It has been a place where children were loved, prayed over, taught about Jesus, encouraged to grow, and given a foundation for the years ahead. It has been a workplace, a ministry, a second home, and a family to so many.
To every family who entrusted us with your children, every teacher and staff member who loved them as their own, every church member and volunteer who supported this ministry, and every child who left a little piece of themselves within these walls — thank you.
Although saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, we will forever be grateful for the privilege of being part of this community for more than four decades.
The doors may close, but the memories, relationships, and impact of First Baptist Destin Preschool will remain in the hearts of the many people who have called this place home.
