🍎🧀 Learning Happens Around the Lunch Table! 🥰
Today our toddlers enjoyed a delicious, homemade lunch of mac & cheese, green beans, and peaches! 😋 But while those little tummies were getting full, their growing minds were learning too!
🍽️ Mealtime is a learning experience! Sitting together at the table helps our toddlers practice:
🗣️ Language & Communication – Talking with teachers and friends, learning new food words, expressing preferences, and practicing conversation.
🤝 Social Skills – Learning to sit with others, take turns, share space, and enjoy being part of a group.
🥄 Independence – Practicing using utensils, drinking from cups, serving themselves when appropriate, and learning to manage their own meal.
💛 Manners & Routines – Saying please and thank you, waiting patiently, and learning the routines that make mealtime enjoyable for everyone.
👀 Observation & Learning from Others – Toddlers are constantly watching and learning from their friends and teachers!
🥦 Healthy Eating Habits – Being introduced to a variety of foods and textures in a positive, relaxed environment helps children develop a healthy relationship with food.
And perhaps most importantly… community! ❤️ There is something special about sitting down together, sharing a meal, and enjoying time with friends.
At SMGL, we believe that some of the most important learning happens during the everyday moments. Even lunch is an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow! 🌱
And yes… that homemade mac & cheese was definitely a hit! 😉🧀
