🚀 Week #5 of our 8-week Confidence SKILLZ program kicks off this Monday, and our focus turns to SOCIABILITY! 🚀
Sociability is the powerful ability to build strong friendships, practice active listening, and treat everyone around us with kindness and respect. Developing great social skills is a massive confidence booster on and off the mats! 🤝❤️
To help our students practice these social superpowers, we have specific Sociability Homework Challenges for each age group this week.
Confidence SKILLZ – WEEK #5 SOCIABILITY – HOMEWORK CHALLENGE
💬 Week #5 of our Confidence SKILLZ program focuses on SOCIABILITY 💡
Sociability is the powerful ability to build strong friendships, practice active listening, and treat everyone around us with kindness and respect. Developing great social skills is a massive confidence booster on and off the mats! 🤝❤️
Here are the age-specific homework challenges to help your martial artist practice being an expert problem-solver this week:
🤝 MINI Dragons & LITTLE Dragons The "Super Friend" Kindness Mission
• The Challenge: Sociability starts with sharing and treating others with respect. Your child's mission this week is to do one intentional act of kindness for a friend, classmate, or sibling.
• The Goal: They can share a favorite toy without being asked, help someone clean up, or give a sincere compliment (like, "I like your drawing!").
• To Earn Credit: Parents, write down who your child helped and what kind thing they did. Have your child bring the note to show a Black Belt Instructor!
•
🗣️YOUTH Martial Arts Ages 7–11: The "New Connection" Interview
• The Challenge: Building friendships means learning about other people! This week, your child must talk to someone they don't know very well yet (a new student at school, a neighbor, or a classmate they usually don't sit with).
• The Goal: Have your child ask that person two simple questions: "What is your favorite hobby?" and "What is your favorite food?"
• To Earn Credit: Have them write down the person's name and their answers on an index card, then hand it to a Black Belt Instructor!
•
📱 Teens (Ages 12–15): The "Ditch the Screen" Social Challenge
• The Challenge: True sociability requires eye contact and active listening—things that are hard to do when looking at a phone.
• The Goal: This week during lunch, recess, or a social hangout, put your phone completely away in your bag for at least 20 minutes. Use that time to engage in a face-to-face conversation, practice active listening, and show respect by giving your full attention to the people around you.
• To Earn Credit: Open the Notes app on your phone. Write a quick summary of who you talked to and one interesting thing you learned about them during your screen-free conversation, then show it to a Black Belt Instructor!
