Kaitlin Coppick of Sphere + Sundry is in search of people with active massage therapy licenses in Illinois for a paid gig at the United Astrology Conference in our vending booth.

If you are an astrologer or interested in astrology, all the better! Hence reaching out to members of the Northern Illinois chapter of NCGR before casting a wider net to hire “muggles”

We are looking for two people to help at any given time: one at a foot massage and another at a shoulder massage station. Detailed dates and times can be found here, but in brief we are looking to cover the majority of day time hours between September 3rd and September 8th. So much time might necessitate juggling many practitioners, so we will favor those who are willing to work most hours overall.

Pay is $60 an hour (—or $80 an hour in Sphere + Sundry shop credit; could also be a combination). Cash tips to be accepted, 100% going to each therapist.

The massages will use astrologically empowered Salves (this aspect of our booth is to give prospective clients real-life engagement with those products). The therapists will wear gloves for both sanitary purposes and to shield them from absorbing whatever the chosen influence is.

We plan to provide everything necessary (including paper towels and hypochlorous acid spray for feet before engagement), including the shoulder massage chair and foot massage setup. All you need to bring is yourself (and your license!)

You do NOT need a ticket to UAC to partake in this, but it also does not grant any access to the conference beyond the vending area and book shop.

Developmental Energies in Our Charts

Everything in a chart is dynamic and developing toward higher consciousness and purpose, both in everyday terms, and in spiritual terms. There are many ways to look at this, and Jon will propose one systematic way to do so.
This looks at the House Modes to show us a developmental structure and process.
We would see Angular Houses as life leading energies; Succedent Houses as life supporting energies; and Cadent Houses as energies for adapting to life changes.
He will briefly look at keywords for Houses, Signs, and Planets, and also suggest some Rulership connections and Aspect connections that show how to further develop the House Modes using an example chart or two. The key is the House Modes, and this can be a relatively simple and systematic approach.

Jon Parks

Jon holds a BS in Physics and a MA in Philosophy, from Northern Illinois University. He is a past President of the now disbanded Chicago Chapter of NCGR and is currently on the Board of the Friends Of Astrology, as Director of Education. He is a member of AFAN, NCGR, ISAR, Friends of Astrology and the Theosophical Society and has been involved with
astrology in the Chicago area for over thirty-five years and lectures on diverse topics. Jon is a long-time student of philosophy and astrology and is interested in their connection to each other and to science, psychology, and history. He is currently learning about Hellenistic and Traditional Astrology and what they have to teach us about our history and how they could be integrated into the modern practice of astrology.

It is no coincidence that the sub-title of the Uranian classic by Witte and Lefeldt, "Rules for Planetary Pictures," is The Astrology of Tomorrow. This lecture provides an overview of the system, touching on the main aspects of Uranian astrology: a discussion of the 6 personal points; the cardinal axis and antiscia; midpoints, sensitive points and planetary pictures; the use of the 360- and 90-degree dials; the hypothetical planets and their meaning in both a personal and mundane context; forecasting the general trends for the year as well as daily transits; and, the use of the dials, midpoints and planetary pictures in synastry.

Madalyn Hillis-Dineen began her study of astrology with the Uranian system in 1979 and has taught, lectured and practiced Uranian (Symmetrical Astrology) techniques for more than 40 years; she is also a certified Astro*Carto*Graphy interpreter and is a CA NCGR-PAA. She has written for a variety of publications, StarIQ.com, and is a contributor to the Llewellyn anthology, "Astrology for Women: Roles and Relationships." Madalyn is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Astrolabe, Inc. An active leader in the astrological community, Madalyn is the winner of the 1995 UAC Regulus Award for Community Service, was the national Chair of NCGR and was one of the coordinators of UACs 2008 and 2012.

A Methodological Approach to Integrating the Sabian Symbols (Ancient Mind Matrix) into your Astrological Practice

In this talk we will explore:
- What are the Sabian Symbols & their origin and development
- Marc Edmund Jones & Dane Rudhyar's Concepts of the Symbols
- A holistic approach to integrating them into your chart interpretations with clients

We will also go over several chart examples with their usage.

Justin Crockett Elzie is a full time consulting Archetypal Jyotish Astrologer, and Teacher. He combines both Western Ancient Astrology and Modern psychological Astrology with Eastern Jyotish Astrology. He specializes in Predictive/Electional, Mundane, and Karmic Astrology. He participates in several monthly podcasts; New Moon, Full Moon, and Monthly Forecasts. He also writes a weekly Horoscope for the Port Townsend WA., Leader Newspaper for the communities on the Olympic Peninsula.

He has studied at Kepler College and the American Institute of Vedic Studies. He is a member of NCGR, OPA, Astrological Lodge of London and the Washington State Association of Astrologers. He is currently writing a book on the Sabian Symbols and will be giving a talk at the upcoming UAC, United Astrology Conference in Chicago on the Sabian Symbols.
