Welcome to Safe Boating Saturday! The Coast Guard Auxiliary is teaching a Boating Safety Class at CMS today to educate local boaters about the legal requirements, safety practices, and habits to enjoy a day on the water. We kicked off the morning hearing from Conservation Police Officer Moir of the IL DNR. He's out there on the water for your safety! Be wise, take a Boating course. Flotilla Commander Jerry Miarecki starts off chapter 1 in this combined Coast Guard Auxiliary and IDNR class.

The boating community lost a good friend today when P.K. was diving and did not resurface. He was a close friend and will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to his family.

Charter Boat & UPV Workshop
Join us for a workshop with USCG MSU Chicago and other regulatory/enforcement agencies.
This workshop will cover the following topics:
- charter vessel safety (navigation safety, locking safety, required safety equipment)
- state requirements for operating your boat as a charter vessel
- guidance on federal requirements for operation as a commercial passenger vessel (UPV or SPV) vs operation as a recreational charter.
