East Maine School District 63

East Maine School District 63 East Maine School District 63: empowering all students to succeed in a changing world. SUCCESS WITHOUT BOUNDARIES . . .

D63 serves more than 3,700 PreK-8th graders at its preschool, five elementary schools, and middle school - helping each student achieve success without boundaries. East Maine School District 63 offers a rich learning environment to more than 3,500 students in Des Plaines, Niles, Morton Grove, Glenview, and Park Ridge at five elementary schools (PreK-5), a preschool, and a middle school (grades 6-8

). Committed to providing all students with the specific opportunities they need to succeed and thrive, District 63 schools, preschool, and afterschool programs foster each child’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth and achievement. The District features:

• Teaching excellence based on each student's needs.

• A focus on the whole child

• A multicultural perspective that celebrates diversity and enhances education

• Serving as an integral part of Maine Township, building strong partnerships that benefit students, families, and the community. Our schools offer:

• Differentiated instruction — because every student has different strengths and leaning styles.

• An outstanding music program, seven sports offered at Gemini, afterschool activities ranging from chess and science clubs to drama, and a Gemini club led by Maine East’s esteemed Schuler Scholar Program.

• Parent involvement and family activities: PTOs, movie nights, picnics, book fairs, literacy events, and more.

• Skilled support for English language learners. By 6th grade, English language arts test scores for ELL students exceed state standards. Free ESL classes for parents and a Spanish-language parenting class.

• Extensive summer programming: kindergarten readiness for at-risk students, an extended school year program for special needs students, and ELL summer school.

• Special needs services, including support in general education classrooms and programming for multi-needs and ASD students; primary and intermediate life skills classrooms.

• An Early Childhood Education Center that offers programs for at-risk and special needs children, and a tuition-based community preschool.

• Access to the District's Expanded Learning Program, featuring before and after school programs, school break programs, a Basketball League, open gym nights, and special programming during early dismissal days. The District's page informs parents, staff, and community members about our achievements, events and activities. We welcome comments and feedback from our Facebook friends -- but please note that posts containing profanity and personal insults against any individual -- as well as those that violate the privacy of others or Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities -- will be deleted. Examples include unauthorized commercial solicitations; posts that bully, intimidate, or harass; content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or contains violence; or any post that is unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory. If more than one post by the same individual must be deleted, the District reserves the right to block that individual from the page. Talk about an unforgettable morning 🚔

One of our Washington students pulled up to school today in the Cook County SWAT truck - a prize he won at Wanda Wildcats’s end-of-year bash. His classmates and teachers greeted him with awe!

A huge thank you to Cook County Sheriff Official for making this happen 👏

How joyful we are to see our classrooms full again ☺️
