School’s out for summer! Have a safe and fun summer break!

Yesterday, on June 4, 2026, 6th grade students had their field day! They spent time outside and enjoying fun and games with each other.

Yesterday, on June 3, 2026, 7th grade students participated in a day of service learning. Students participated in various projects:
🌤️ Linus blankets
🐈 Pet blankets
🌸 Cleanup & give back / planting flowers
💌Letters to military
🎂 Birthday bags for the pantry (which contain items such as a cake mix, frosting, a tablecloth, sign, paper plates and napkins)
✏️ New student care package
🥪 Uncle Pete’s Lunch

Congratulations to the class of 2026! We enjoyed celebrating our students at AMS 8th grade promotion last night (June 3, 2026)! We hope everyone has a wonderful summer and wish them good luck at Maine West!

📚 All library books are now due back! Please take a moment to look around your home for any library books and have your student return them to school. Students have received emails with instructions about how to log into their account and see if they still have any books out. Mrs. Wengerhoff has also sent emails out to families if their student(s) still have books out to help remind them. Thanks so much for your help returning our loved library books so students can continue to enjoy them!

Today was the last day of school for our 8th grade students. We can’t wait to celebrate them at the 8th grade Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, June 3! Have a wonderful summer break! ☀️

The 8th grade party took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The students had a blast! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a fun success! We can’t believe the last day for our 8th grade students is Monday!

📚 The AMS Reading Challenge Celebration took place after school yesterday, on May 27, 2026. Students who participated read 5 or more books this school year! Students received prizes and enjoyed games and crafts to celebrate their accomplishments.

📚 Yesterday, on May 26th, 6th grade students participated in a Reading Celebration in the LMC, as a culmination of a five-week book club unit in their ELA classes. Students in Mrs. Aske’s, Ms. Ahern’s and Ms. Garlewicz's classes, read a fiction novel and completed activities in their book club journals. During the reading celebration, students from all three teams got together with other students who read the same book and took part in various activities. It was fun celebrating the students and their hard work.
