Years ago, Kierra Johnson, shown in the photo during Maryville Crisis Nursery's 20th birthday celebration in late July, turned to the Maryville Crisis Nursery when she needed a safe, nurturing place for her son.

Today, she owns a daycare in Indiana, inspired by the care her family received.

Hear her remarkable story at the Maryville Crisis Nursery Fall Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at North Shore Country Club in Glenview. Join us to help make that same support available to families facing a crisis today.

The reception begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and a program concluding at 1:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Maryville Crisis Nursery.

Take a walk for a healthier future!

Join the Rotary Club of River Cities and the Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Palatine Rotary clubs for a community walk on Saturday, Oct. 24, in recognition of World Polio Day.

Help raise awareness of global efforts to eradicate polio and the critical importance of vaccination. Registration is free and everyone is welcome. Invite family and friends to walk alongside you.

Join us Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for our annual Maryville Crisis Nursery Trunk or Treat. Families can enjoy games, arts and crafts, face painting, snacks and, of course, trunk-or-treating.

The event will be held at Maryville Crisis Nursery, 6650 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago. Volunteers are also welcome to decorate a vehicle and hand out candy.
