Here’s my recording of Weissenborn #3 for Iowa All-State low clarinet students! I’m striving to keep all my energy focused on the tip of the reed for a consistent articulation.

This etude is a great exercise is making style (dynamics, articulation, vibe, tone color, breathing) decisions for ever section.

And here’s the big one. This etude has EVERYTHING that’s tough about bass clarinet, especially the G #, A, and A # just above the treble clef staff. Spend time with those big intervals so you can hear where you’re headed!

Here’s my recording of the Iowa All-State clarinet etude on page 36! You can definitely hear moisture behind my reed in the second half, but I posted this take anyway. You can always be musical, even when your equipment doesn’t behave!!!
