Exciting day for the Lincoln Marching Band
The new uniforms just arrived!!

Congratulations to the Railsplitter Marching Band for theirr outstanding performances yesterday at the SW Iowa Band Jamboree in Clarinda. Despite very adverse conditions, including heat in the 90's and 40-50 mph winds, the band had a very successful day. They took home several awards including:
1st place class 4A parade
2nd place class 4A field
Glenn Miller Trophy for Best overall band
Best horn line
Best color guard
Best soloist - Liam Miller (soprano sax)

Also, congratulations to Nate Worthington for being selected as Lincolns "Best Marcher"

We are super proud of all the band students for their contined hard work and dedication to getting better every day!!

Also a shout out to our army of amazing parent volunteers!!! These trips would never be successful without all your hard work.

What an awesome weekend, and great way to end a successful marching season.
Friday night we had our inaugural game at the new DMPS Mediacom Stadium. Unfortunately we were rained out before we could perform our halftime show.

Saturday morning we traveled to Waukee and had an outanding performance at the State Marching Contest, receiving a Division I superior rating!!!
Saturday night we went to Ankeny and ended our season with our best performance of the year at the Mid Iowa Band Championships. The band placed 6th in class 4A.

We could not be more proud of all our students, and their hard work throughout the entire season. Our goal was to get better with every rehearsal and every performance, and they did that every single day right up to the last day of the season!!!

A HUGE thank you to the many parent volunteers that helped throught the season. From taking care of uniforms, making spirit packs, feeding the band, loading equipment or assembling props, we couldn't do this without you. THANK YOU!!!!

WHAT A GREAT SEASON!!! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!

The Lincoln band had a great day yesterday at the Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree in Clarinda, despite the extreme heat. The band overcame adverse conditions and had great performances in parade and field competition.
The results from yesterday were:
1st place class 4A parade
1st place class 4A field
Best horn line
Best drum majors
Glenn Miller trophy for Best overall band
Richard Mowery Memorial Traveling Troohy
Also congratulations to Brilynn Walls for receiving the outstanding marcher award.

Also a huge THANK YOU to the band boosters and ALL the parent volunteers that help the band. We couldn't do what we do without the parents support!!! THANK YOU!!!

The Lincoln band just finished up a busy homecoming week, including a great performance of "The Final Frontier" halftime show Friday night, and the homecoming parade on Saturday morning. Thanks to all of the students and the parent volunteers for their hard work!! It's going to be.a great season!!!
