Happy first day of school! ⚡️💚

The hallways were full, the classrooms were buzzing, and our hearts were full of gratitude as we welcomed students back for a new school year!

We are so thankful for each student the Lord has entrusted to us, and we’re excited to see how He will work through our students and staff to further His kingdom throughout this year.

May we excel still more in all that we do as we learn, grow, and follow God’s leading together! 💫

Last week our football team took some time to lend a helping hand to our facilities team as we move in to our new Intermediate Addition. 📦⚡️We are so grateful for their servant hearts and willingness to lead in this way. Only a few more days until school starts!

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is Excel Still More. The concept comes from 1 Thessalonians 4:1 which says, “Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more."

One of the most exciting things about education is watching young people grow: academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This verse reminds us to keep pressing on, stay the course, and keep striving for improvement. We pray that this year will be a year of dynamic growth for our students as we strive to Excel Still More. ⚡️

Our Early Ed, Elementary, and Intermediate students soaked up the sunshine at Popsicles with the Principal! ☀️

Students had the chance to meet with their principal, enjoy a sweet treat, and find out who they’ll be sharing the classroom with this school year! There was plenty of excitement as students reconnected with friends and got a first glimpse of what’s ahead.

We can’t wait to have our students back in the classroom in just a couple of weeks! 🌱✏️

The New Family Ice Cream Social was a sweet success! 🍦💚

New families gathered at our JH/HS campus for a little information about the upcoming school year and Parent Teacher Fellowship, an opportunity to connect with one another, and, of course, some ice cream!

This annual event is a wonderful opportunity for our newest GVCS families to meet one another, ask questions, and get a glimpse of what it means to be part of the Grand View family.

A special thank you to our PTF for organizing the event and to Over the Top for providing the ice cream. We are so grateful for your partnership and for helping make this such a fun evening for our new families!

This week we kicked off the new school year with one of our favorite traditions — delivering New Student Boxes! 💫📦

Our administration team delivered each new student a box of Thunder swag along with a sweet encouragement note to help welcome them to the Grand View Christian family. We are so excited and so grateful to have each student join us for another great school year! 💚⚡️

State Champions. 🥎⚡️

We couldn’t be more proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season. In the program’s first-ever trip to the State Tournament, the Thunder brought home the Class 2A State Championship. So much history was made. 💚

Congratulations to our players, coaches, families, and everyone who supported this unforgettable season. All glory to Christ! ⚡️

The Thunder softball team is State Championship bound! 🥎⚡️

After an incredible comeback, winning four straight elimination games, our Thunder have earned the opportunity to compete for the Class 2A State Championship tomorrow!

State Championship Game Details:

We are incredibly proud of our players and coaching staff—not only for everything they have accomplished on the field, but for the way they have represented GVCS and, above all, reflected Christ.

As our Thunder softball team prepares for their first-ever State Tournament appearance, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who have helped care for and encourage our girls along the way. 💚🥎

A special thank you to Hy-Vee Altoona, Baratta's (Joe Gatto), Terry and Deb Jaycox, The Teriyaki House, Joy Bird, and Dick and Nita McWilliams for generously providing meals for our team this week. Your kindness and support have been such a blessing as they prepare to compete on the biggest stage in program history!
