Our Phlebotomy students have wrapped up their classroom learning and are ready to take the next step: hands-on clinical experience! 🎉

Through DMACC's Workforce Training Academy, students build the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in phlebotomy, including blood collection techniques, patient care, safety and infection control, and specimen handling.

We're excited to see them put their training into practice as they continue working toward their goals in healthcare. Way to go! 👏

Fall into fitness, Southridge style! 🍂🚶‍♀️

Our staff took our Fall Fitness Challenge seriously and joined fellow DMACC Southridge staff for the Iowa Healthiest State Walk! 💪

We even had a special four-legged participant join us. 🐶💜 Our Dog Grooming instructor's pup had just been dyed purple in class and was more than ready to show off that fresh look on a walk around Southridge!

We love finding ways to stay active, connect with our colleagues, and promote healthy lifestyles for our DMACC community.

💻 Our IT Helpdesk students got hands-on this week by taking apart and reconstructing computers, while learning the anatomy of a computer and what each component does.

With a table full of computer parts and cables, students put their knowledge to the test by identifying components, figuring out what goes where, and learning how they differ.

This hands-on experience helps students build the hardware, troubleshoot, and develop the technical skills they need to pursue a career in IT support and prepare for the CompTIA A+ Certification.
