The program provides excellent science and engineering activities for underrepresented & under served children to encourage them to consider a career in S.T.E.A.M. The program is now celebrating fourteen years of touring nationally across the United States from Los Angeles, Ca to Atlanta, GA.

The MEP team will begin to offer on-line training on Zoom in November of 2022. Utilizing the new book by Wendy A. Taylor Faith and Steam (FaithandSteam.com), MEP will offer training on how to use the new book along with the phenomenal MEP hands on training. The first program will be held in person in southern Arizona and on zoom as well. The date will be Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the African American Women's retreat. African American Women professionals who are interested in experiencing a taste of Arizona and also training in STEAM are encouraged to attend. Good afternoon everyone, can you please spread the word about our free after school program during December 7-11, 2015. We will be celebrating Computer Science Week with a "Hour of Code" several afternoons.What is a Hour of Code? It opens the world of computer programming for youth! Did you know right now in Iowa there are 4,489 jobs available and only 358 Computer Science Graduates to fill them! By 2020 there will be over 1.4 million jobs and estimated only 400,000 people in computer science to fill them! This is a billion dollar a year industry waiting to be filled!

This summer has been great! Multicultural Ed. Programs kicked off summer on June 24-26 with the Multicultural STEAM Days. Dr. Paula Mahone and the UPS Volunteer Team lead by my husband Steven Frazier served 140 kids over three afternoons! Children learned how to perform surgery with our new simulator, how to draw like an architect with Al the Traveling Artist and much more! Check us out at www.meeprocks.org for more pictures

Join us on Monday evening, August 25th, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at MT.Olive Missionary Baptist Church located on 2nd Ave. Children will learn how to write a play in a fun fine arts workshop! There is no cost to it and please bring a friend! For questions please call the office at 515-897-5503.

This summer has gone by so quick. The program has had a great staff with Mr. Raymond Shade, Director of Family Programs and Tyrese Andrews, in red tie and three interns pictured Shylow Thompson, Left, Jasmon Garrison, middle and Haandsatua Diao, right. Mr.Vidal and Ms.Ruth Ann Gaines invited our team to visit her diversity class for teachers out at the Heartland Area11 Education Agency last month. Then we have on the cover picture volunteer Kiera Canada at DMACC for the Evelyn Davis Center for Working Adults on Black Inventors Day in June. There will be lots of pictures to follow each week of the July national tour in southern Arizona and St, Louis, MO.
