✨A DAY WE WILL NEVER FORGET ✨
Yesterday, the students and staff of J.W. Reed Christian Academy had the distinct honor of experiencing something truly extraordinary — a community cultural event featuring world-renowned bass-baritone and opera legend, Mr. Simon Estes! 🎶
The day was nothing short of magical. Our students took center stage, opening the program with a beautiful rendition of Precious Lord, that filled the room with joy and pride. 🎵 From there, we gathered for the highly anticipated screening of Mr. Estes' powerful documentary, *Simon Estes: A Heart & A Voice* — a film that beautifully captures the remarkable journey of an Iowa-born bass-baritone who graced the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, the Bayreuth Festival, and concert halls across five continents.
Following the screening, our students participated in a deeply meaningful Q&A session with Mr. Estes himself, who poured into our young people with words of wisdom, encouragement, and an inspiring message to always pursue their dreams — no matter how big. 💫 Students also had the incredible opportunity to take photos with and receive Mr. Estes' autograph — a keepsake many of them will treasure for a lifetime.
To close the day, Mr. Estes graciously toured our school, where he was welcomed by the incredible creativity and heart of our students. In preparation for his visit, our young scholars created acrostic poems, artwork, and heartfelt welcome letters — gestures that moved Mr. Estes deeply and topped off an unforgettable day.
This day was a reminder of why we do what we do — to expose our students to greatness, to culture, to possibility.
🙏 A heartfelt and enormous THANK YOU to the legendary Mr. Simon Estes for pouring so much of himself into our students and our school. Your kindness, humility, and brilliance left a mark on every heart in that room.
🙌 And a HUGE shout-out to Jeremiah Wright of Get It Wright Fitness for collaborating with us to bring this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to our students. This would not have been possible without you — THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
