Remembering Carol this Thank a Dance Teacher Day! Thankful for the inspiration, discipline, kindness, and love she shared with every dancer she taught. We all learned about dance, movement, math, grammar…but also many life lessons along the way. We often catch ourselves saying things we learned from her. We miss her so much and her influence continues and shapes what we do as teachers here at CTDS 🩵 forever grateful and forever dancing! 🩰

OUR LAST SENIOR ✨SPOTLIGHT✨ With only two and half weeks until recital we would like to give a shoutout to our very own Camryn Damge. Camryn is going to the University of Iowa to study Nursing. She has been dancing for 15 years and her favorite style of dance is contemporary. Something she loves to do in the summer when she has free time is to hang out with her friends! Her favorite memory from dance was when she played the game spoons with ballet shoes before rehearsal! We wish Camryn nothing but the best at IOWA🐥

OUR FIRST SENIOR ✨SPOTLIGHT✨ Evelyn is going to the University of Missouri to study Sports Nutrition. She has been dancing for 15 years and her favorite style of dance is contemporary. Something she loves to do in the summer when she has free time is to go hiking! Her favorite memory from dance has been when her class got to all try to get the intro clap at the beginning of our videos at the same time. We wish Evelyn nothing but the best at MIZZOU 🐯

As we get ready for The Nutcracker this morning, let’s give a big round of applause and a huge good luck to our former dancer and fellow alumna, Alexis Holman!🎉🩰

Alexis and her team are also performing today in Cedar Falls! They had their first performance of the weekend last night and will have two more today!

Break a leg, dancers! 💜✨🐈‍⬛

This year our Nutcracker performances are dedicated to Larry & Carol. Larry’s recent passing has weighed heavily on all of our hearts and we miss them both immensely.

Larry was a quiet constant, Carol’s steady support, and a backbone of the studio. He shaped the studio into what it is today in countless ways. Including many things we do to make the show happen year after year.

Larry did so much of the behind-the-scenes magic: such as building props, prepping and maintaining many needs, supervising the prep of the stage floor, and making sure it was just right. You could always find him sweeping and mopping so the stage was ready for dancing feet. He would be there at rehearsal and be a support through all the shows. And many, many more ways!

At any rehearsal, a “Larry!” call from Carol wasn’t uncommon - because he was everywhere, doing everything, always with kindness, patience, and a sprinkle of wisdom. He baked cookies for the dancers on holidays, shared waiting room advice, and supported Carol’s passion for teaching in ways seen and unseen. The studio simply wouldn’t be what it is without him.

Larry and Carol would both be so proud of every dancer stepping onto the stage this weekend. 🩰

We invite you to share any special memories with Larry, Carol, or dance experiences as a reminder of all the joy and dancing they continued sharing for generations.

We’ll be holding the family in our thoughts and we truly appreciate all of your ongoing support. 🩵

SENIOR SUNDAY : ISABEL

Isabel is joining the Air Force after high school! She has been dancing at CTDS since she was 4 years old and her favorite style is tap. Some of her other hobbies are running and reading. Her favorite dance memory is sneakily chatting to her friends during barre.
