1. Set your goal high! Students will see significant gains towards graduation and academic success if they maintain a 95%+ attendance rate.Current average attendance rate of a student at Roosevelt: 84%; This means the average student has already missed five full days!

2. What you missed still matters! Connect before it’s too late! Students should talk with their teachers when they miss school regarding work they need to complete or assessments they have missed. Students will need to show evidence of learning and this may require extra time out of class due to the absences.

3. Come to Fall Conferences on Thursday, October 2nd! Conferences are a great opportunity to connect with your student(s) teachers and staff about grades, attendance and supports. Fall Conferences are “drop in” on Thursday, October 22nd from 3:45p-7p.

4. Communication is key! Emailing, calling or using Infinite Campus to report absences is the best way to keep the school informed. With a system our size, it can take up to 48 hours for your communication of an absence to reflect in the system. We appreciate your patience.

5. Plan ahead. Miss the least amount of school by scheduling appointments and vacations on days there are no school. Upcoming no school days include October 22nd, 23rd, November 2nd, 3rd, and 25th-27th , and December 21st-31st.

And that’s a wrap on Homecoming week! No pics as the adults were too busy welcoming and ensuring safe check-in and supervision of around 1,100 youth to the dance.

A HUGE thanks to all the staff who made Roosevelt’s 2026 Homecoming Week so joyful and safe for our students. You are appreciated!

We are forever grateful for the Roosevelt High School Foundation and Alumni Association and all they do to help support our Velt community. Mark your calendars for this year’s R Party - November 7th!

A beautiful night for the homecoming game. Great to connect with so many groups in for their reunions.

The foundation presented a ceremonial check representing our investment in the Rider Community during our last fiscal year. With your help, we’ll exceed that next year!

We’re so fortunate to count on Activities Director Andrew Wade’s leadership at Roosevelt!

Roosevelt High School Activities Director Andrew Wade joined WHO 13’s David Warrington on Look WHO’s Talking. They talked about a variety of topics, like his early career as a teacher and coach, the multiple successful seasons for Roughrider athletes, and the football team. Watch below.
