The Comparison Project enacts a global philosophy of religion in the local Des Moines community. The Comparison Project's speaker and dialogue series at Drake University tracks a common philosophical theme through diverse religious traditions. We’re excited to celebrate the 10th consecutive year of our Interfaith Youth Leadership Camp, happening July 8–11 in partnership with the Des Moines Area Religious Council!
At camp, participants:
✨ Learn about diverse religious traditions and interfaith leadership
✨ Visit places of worship across the metro
✨ Create and share digital stories about their own faith or life experiences (presented publicly on the final day)
Thanks to generous support from Drake University and DMARC, campers receive:
🏠 Housing in Drake dorms
🍽️ Meals throughout the week
💵 A $250 scholarship (yes—an actual check!)
We’re currently accepting applications! The camp is open to 16–18-year-olds (typically rising high school juniors/seniors and incoming college students). You do not need to be religious to participate—everyone is welcome.

Drake University's The Comparison Project, in partnership with the Iowa Interfaith Exchange, will present Roads to Religion on Sunday, February 23, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Olmsted Center in Parents Hall.
This FREE public event showcases dozens of local religious communities representing more than 10 religious traditions. The communities will be arranged throughout Parents Hall to create a living map of the metro area. Visitors will receive a guide map to explore this unique arrangement.
