The SBA is the governing body of the Drake Law School.
The SBA works as an advocate for the students in discussion with other organizations, Drake administration, and the greater Des Moines community.

Our Story
SBA 2020-2021 Officers:
PRESIDENT - Claire Davison ([email protected]) The President is the official representative of the Student Bar Association. The President chairs all regular meetings, makes appointments, and oversees the chartering of student organizations. The President also has the power to create special committees, suggest legislation, and serve as a representative to the Faculty Senate, the Board of Counselors, and the American Bar Association.
VICE PRESIDENT - Josh Hughes. The Vice President assumes the powers of the President during the President’s absence and organizes Student Bar Association involvement with 1L Orientation. The Vice President serves as the Chair of the Elections Committee and is a voting member of all standing committees.
TREASURER - Derrick Wade. The Treasurer manages the financial affairs of the Student Bar Association and serves as the Chair of the Budget Committee. The Treasurer approves the expense requests for student organizations and ensures that the Student Bar Association’s budget is publicly available to all law students.
SECRETARY - Brett Bunnell. The Secretary records the meetings of the Student Bar Association and makes the agendas and other necessary documents available to all law students.
AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVE - Baylee Reinstein. The American Bar Association Representative serves as the Chair of the American Bar Association Law Student Division and represents the Student Bar Association at annual and circuit meetings of the American Bar Association.
FACULTY REPRESENTATIVE - Riley Noble. The Faculty Representative represents the Student Bar Association to the Faculty Senate and reports on the progress of their meetings to the Student Bar Association.
UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVE - Zoee Risdal. The University Representative represents the Student Bar Association to the Drake University Student Senate and is responsible for promoting the Law School’s role within the activities of Drake University.
