The Period Collective Iowa

One week ago we held our first community event, and it was incredible! Nearly 20 youth gathered at studio to learn about puberty and periods at a party with others their age. They were curious, clever, funny, brave, and kind. We danced, relay-raced, answered questions, and spoke without shame about these important topics.

Governor Reynolds' administration has imposed limitations on the health education permitted in schools. This includes restricting discussions on gender identity, s*xual orientation, and comprehensive reproductive health.

Private events allow us to deliver education without taboo or political agenda. We hope to bridge the educational gap by providing factual, age-appropriate puberty and menstrual health information in a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment.
