Help us congratulate Sophomore Siena Cariglino of the Lincoln Varsity Swim Team on being named our Athlete of the Week! 👏

Siena started the swim season STRONG! 💪 Her coach shared:

“Siena started off the swim season strong! She came in about 3.5 seconds faster on her 100 backstroke and about 2 seconds faster on her 100 freestyle. She continues to be a leader by pushing herself and her teammates at practice!”

That kind of growth, determination, and leadership is what being a Railsplitter is all about! ❤️💛

📣 Once a Railsplitter, Always a Railsplitter! 💛❤️

At last Friday’s Varsity Football Game, our Railsplitter Cheerleaders welcomed their Junior Cheer Clinic participants onto the field for a special halftime performance!

Earlier this week, 88 junior cheerleaders from across the Southside—and even communities throughout the metro—came together for our annual Lincoln Cheer Clinic. From Pre-K through 8th grade, these future Railsplitters spent time learning cheers, building confidence, making new friends, and experiencing what it means to be part of the Lincoln family.

The clinic was led by our JV and Varsity Cheer Squads and first-year head coach and LHS cheer alumna, Paige Gwyn. It was an incredible opportunity for our high school cheerleaders to share their passion, leadership, and Railsplitter pride with the next generation.

And then came the best part—seeing all 88 Junior Cheerleaders take the field alongside our Varsity squad! ❤️💛

We love watching our Railsplitter family grow from the youngest members of our Southside community to our high school students and beyond.

⚾❤️💛 Serving Our Community, One Ballgame at a Time! 💛❤️⚾

Saturday morning was a special one for our Lincoln High School Key Club members as nearly a dozen Railsplitters volunteered their time at the Kiwanis Miracle League at Principal Park.

Our Key Clubbers partnered one-on-one with Miracle League players as their “buddies,” helping them hit, catch, field, throw, and—most importantly—enjoy a day at the ballpark. The Kiwanis Miracle League creates an inclusive baseball experience where every player gets a chance to play, every player gets on base, and every player gets to celebrate a win.

For our students, it was more than a morning of baseball. It was an opportunity to build connections, practice leadership through service, and experience firsthand the joy that comes from making someone else’s day a little brighter.

This is what Key Club service is all about—showing up, serving alongside others, and helping make our community a better place.

A huge thank you to Bob Mitchell and Jan Burch for inviting our Railsplitters out to the ballgame and giving our students the opportunity to be part of the Miracle League family. We are grateful for the work you do to make sure every child has the chance to play baseball. ❤️⚾

🚨 URGENT NOTICE: TWO-HOUR DELAY

Lincoln High School will start at 10:15 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 2, due to a power outage.

Brody Middle School, Howe Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Lovejoy Elementary, Mitchell Preschool, Moulton Elementary, Park Avenue Elementary, River Woods Elementary and South Union Elementary are also on a two-hour delay.

Lincoln High School Bell Schedule:

* Period 3: 10:15-10:40 a.m.
* Period 4 & Lunch: 10:45-11:59 a.m.
* Period 5: 12:04-12:48 p.m.
* Period 6: 12:53-1:37 p.m.
* Period 7: 1:42-2:26 p.m.
* Period 8: 2:31-3:15 p.m.

Buses will run two hours later than normal. Watch for your bus on the My Ride K-12 Bus Finder:

Lincoln students will be excused from Central Campus and Academy classes due to the late start.

🏐 RAILSPLITTER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK! 🏐

Congratulations to Sophomore Arianna Altamirano for being named this week’s Railsplitter Athlete of the Week following her outstanding varsity performance against the East Scarlets!

Here’s what Coach Donavee Monahan had to say about Arianna:

“Arianna is leading our Varsity team in assists (71) and digs (65) on the season. Arianna has stepped into an amazing role on varsity as a starter. She has an amazing way of leading, always has a positive attitude and always helps pick up the team when needed. Arianna is truly someone we can always count on to be a team player, show up for the team and always willing to help out. She has done great things this season and will continue to do great things in her next 3 seasons with Lincoln Volleyball.”

If you were at the Homecoming Game, you saw a FREIGHT TRAIN running through the Bulldogs! 🏈

Senior Dayvon “TANK” Wesley put on a Homecoming performance to remember against Ottumwa:

💥 1 SACK

Tank didn’t just run the ball—he POWERED the Railsplitters all night long! 🚂💨

And the victory was even sweeter… the Railsplitters defeated Ottumwa for the first time since 2017! 🙌

That win was LONG OVERDUE, and Tank’s huge performance helped make sure the Southside had a Homecoming celebration to remember! ❤️💛
